The continuous residence requirement for naturalization states that "An applicant for naturalization under the general provision must have resided continuously in the United States after his or her lawful permanent resident (LPR) admission for at least 5 years prior to filing the naturalization application and up to the time of naturalization." (https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-3)
I left the US in May 2019 while my Adjustment of Status (AOS) application was pending. In June 2019, while I was still outside of the US, the AOS was approved and a green card was sent to my US address. I had a friend mail me the card abroad, and I successfully used it to return to the US in October (less than 6 months after my departure from the US and about 4 months after the green card was issued).
For the purposes of continuous residence for naturalization, is the LPR admission date the green card issue date in July (shown on the card as Resident Since) or the actual return date in October when I was first admitted into the US as an LPR?
