Hello guys. I'm in the US right now on a B1 visa, and my I 94 expires June 5th 2020. My flights got cancelled due to the virus and I applied for a visa extension on 25th April.
What I read online and from here as well is that as long as you applied within time and got the receipt notice, if you stay past the I 94 expiry date, it won't come under unlawful stay. I got a receipt notice as soon as I applied but it very clearly states that this isn't a proof of pending case or grant any immigration benefit. Link is below and sorry about the red circles.
If this receipt notice isn't proof of pending case, then can anyone tell me what is? Thank you.
