TN Visa residency requirement in state of employer?

I'm a Canadian working in the US on a TN Visa. Is there any requirement for me to live in same the city or state as my employer? For example, say my company is based in NY but I want to live in California and work remotely.

In a similar vein, would there be an issue with me spending a proportion of my time outside the US. For example, I work at a NY based company but split my time between the US and Canada equally.

The fundamental issue here is that I love the place I work but hate the town that I have to live in to work there. Trying to come up with some alternatives.

The form is also missing under "Documents -> Your Uploads" tab! So, it appears that my N400 form is missing! What does that all mean, considering that it's impossible to file without N400 form! Finally, under profile, My name is incorrectly sp...
