I started university before immigration process started and I got my Green Card in January through through my father as I entered the US to spend the semester here as an international exchange student. The timing was perfect and my plan was to permanently move here and do my PhD after I graduated.
I am still in the states but they are planning emergency flights to bring citizens back and I am planning on going back for familial reasons. In the mean time I got into an internship in a lab and I am registered as an intern in the university's system until the end of the year. The lab is practically closed right now because of COVID-19 but I am still working with them online. I want to come back as soon as the labs open but I am worried about losing my Green Card if I leave the country.
Does anybody know if the LPR status would be less stable because of the pandemic or if my connections here could help me secure it?
