Hey all, I'm wondering if someone here has an answer to this question:
In 2017 I came to the US on an ESTA (after some previous visits) intending to stay with my BF at the time for the duration of the ESTA. One thing led to another and we got married (dumb decision, I know) and started trying to figure out the visa paperwork needed to get an AOS, applied for that etc. However, we ended up breaking up and I left the country just after my biometrics appointment would've taken place. All in all, because of the visa process, I overstayed the ESTA by about 105 days.
I've been back in my home country (European country) for 2.5 years now and I've recently started considering applying to a US company in maybe ... 2 years time or so because I work in software development and my country is a terrible place to be a dev. Now my question is - would I even be eligible to receive a work visa with a history of overstaying once before? I still have a bunch of the visa paperwork from back then to "prove" that I wasn't just randomly breaking the law. I also had 0 issues leaving the country back then, I wasn't held back or questioned or anything like that.
Maybe I'm overly cautious but I am just wondering if maybe there won't even be a point in trying to get an interview at a US company due to this issue.
