Hi everyone,
Looking for some advice as I am unsure how to proceed.
I went to the US on F1 visa. After college, I changed to H1B, got laid off, changed back to F1 for my masters.
I went back home, applied and got in law school, but got denied F1, because I had too many ties with the US.
I own a home in the US and my sister is there.
I don't have ties to my home country.
I played the green card lottery
It affected me quite a bit as I never thought I would be denied. I did visit once on vacation, but was asked many questions at the border control.
After that, I went on vacation and started working in another continent for 6 years, but now I'd like to go back to the US to visit.
I have a couple of questions:
- Going back on tourist visa just to visit my sister: I come from a country where I don't have to get a visa, but since I have been denied a visa at the embassy, is there a risk? What should I do to avoid any issues?
I just don't want to be red flagged or have any issues.
