Guidelines for F-1 Students looking for jobs

So I’m interested in understanding how does a position that I apply for fit in with my major in college as an F-1 student. For example, if I am a Information systems major and I want to do Instructional Tech Support work, would that be okay? I’m struggling to find anything concrete that indicates what jobs would relate to my major and what wouldn’t for the purpose of OPT and beyond. Only reason I want a cookie cutter position is because I don’t want to risk being rejected for not applying for the “correct” position. Hope this makes sense. If anyone has suggestions on places I can look up to ensure positions I am exploring would fit the whole major requirement, I would appreciate it a lot. I am not trying to explore opportunities beyond my major but there are a lot of grey areas I want to avoid. Thank you.
