My (25F, US) Tier-4 visa is ending unexpectedly; options to stay together with my fiancée (24F, UK)?
Hello, everyone!
I'm a US citizen who has known my British fiancée for four years, and we have lived together for one year (in England). I did a postgrad degree at a UK university; however, I had to finish my degree early, and now my visa is being withdrawn. I was not expecting this to happen, and because of the pandemic, my wedding had to be postponed, so now I am basically an alien in another country! I have applied for an extension in order to figure out my finances (14-day rule as well as the current COVID-related August 31 deadline, so it's legal for me to be here right now), but I am worried that I will have to go back to the US and will be separated from my fiancée. Is there anything I can do? As a note, my job does not seem amenable to offering me a Tier-2 work visa, so that seems to be off the table.
Any help would be appreciated! We are willing to stay in the UK or move to the US, and have social support in both places.
Thank you, and have a great day!
