I remember reading somewhere on Reddit last year that Trump had passed a new law requiring all green card holders to not leave the country for at least 36 consecutive months before applying for citizenship. Can somebody verify if this is true. I’ve had my green card for 2 years and really want to make a trip to Asia in 2021. And in case I could leave the country and then come back to apply for citizen ship, what is the length of time that I could be overseas for? Can I/should I be gone for more than 6 months? (I haven’t left the US at all for 2 years since I got my green card). Thank you all so much 🙏
