Question above, so me and my dad just had an argument about where they have to be US Citizens before my priority date hits on the Visa bulletin (or whatever the date is). I just got selected for H1B for Fiscal Year 2022 so this is not really important anymore/ I can basically get a green card by myself. Through what I’ve researched, I do not think it is a must, yet my dad kept telling me they have to. I’m pretty sure it took a toll on both of my parents since they don’t speak English very well and I don’t want this to pressure them at all. Does anyone have a real answer for this? They are LPRs fyi.
