One year ago, I committed (simple) assault but was never convicted. I went through a diversion program, which after completion, my charges were completely withdrawn. As a result, I don’t have a criminal record here in Canada, but I’ve heard the US can deny you entry even if you were never actually convicted for a crime. Does this affect my chances in getting an F1? I’m going into my final year of undergrad here in Canada, already have written the GRE, so one could imagine how excited I was (am) to go to grad school in the States. Please be brutally honest with me.
