Hi all! My wife and I have been together for about 4 years and happily married since last October. I'm a US/Guatemalan citizen (double) and she is a Guatemalan citizen. We have a small business here in Antigua Guatemala, and I have been living here for the last 5 years. Unfortunately Antigua and our sector (Food and Bev) just hasn't really recoverd, and well, we have decided it's time for me to hunt for work back in the United States.
Who has gone through a CR1 Visa process? Would this be the best option for us? I understand Central America can be tough in terms of Visas.
We would love to be able to go up together, but if an opportunity is presented to me, I'd go up first and she'd stay behind.
Once in the states we would like to continue the process towards a Green Card and residency/citizenships for her, but the most important thing for us right now is getting up there together in the least amount of time (if that's even realistic)
We greatly greatly appreciate any insight that can be had!
