Huge delays on I-485 (Marriage Green Card), is this normal?

Hi everyone.

So let me start by saying, I knew that there would be delays in this process but it’s crazy atm! Just wondering if everyone else has had anything similar?

For background, my husband and I got married in May last year. We filed our marriage based green card petition at the start of October. I’m thinking there’s no fat chance of getting my EAD or travel permit within the quoted 3-5 months and expected 6+ months.

Flash forward, we get an RFE (for the i485) in March to prove my birth certificate. We complete that in May and now here we are and absolutely nothing.

I was told that an RFE on the i485 would have no delays on the Work Authorization or Travel Documents, but 260 days (8+ months) later and nothing. Not even a biometrics appointment.

Please tell me some good news! I hope nobody else has such a brutal delay but if you do, I would love to know.

NVC Case FE Review note

Hi everyone, my family and I are under the F3 category and we just received a notice from NVC that our documents have been approved and that we are Documentarily Qualified. My only concern is this message that we received today in addition to the acceptance: ​ " [Name of petitioner] does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview. For more information, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p . To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 for a joint sponsor may be submitted." ​ We already have a petitioner and a household sponsor (the household sponsor's income is above the required level), but still unsure why we received this.
