Marrying in Mexico to enter US?

Trying to formulate a plan and would appreciate any input.

My fiancé and I were approaching our marriage in Hungary when I came to the US (I am a US citizen) because my father had received a terminal diagnosis. My fiancé and I are trying to reunite, but we would like him to be able to stay the full 90 days/3 months here with us, and maybe even extend his stay legally if possible.

The K-1 visa is expensive, long waiting time (we really want him here while my Dad is still with us), and has income requirements we probably won’t fulfill.

What if he came to Mexico, I met him there, we got married, and we entered the US together as husband and wife? Is that feasible? Could he then stay the full 90 days and we could apply for a green card, as he would be entering via ESTA as my spouse?

At the same time April 2021 showed up on my account as the expected completion date. Last week, the status was "17 days". Today the estimated time of completion has disappeared!!! Any idea what that means? More importantly - When I click on "View PDF" link under "N-400 Application for Naturalization", to see my actual N-400 form, I get " {"data":null,"error":{"developerMessage":null,"userMessage":null}} " message! The form is also missing under "Documents -> Your Uploads" tab! So, it appears that my N400 form is missing! What does that all mean, considering that it's impossible to file without N400 form! Finally, under profile, My name is incorrectly sp...
