Probably having to move back after 5 years of school and OPT

So I studied and got a degree in the USA and am currently completing my OPT with an American company. Starting this process I didn't realize how difficult the visa process after OPT is. It's becoming more and more likely that I'll have to move back home. The H1B lottery system doesn't sound promising (if my company is willing to even do it) and after talking to a lawyer I learned I don't have nearly as strong a case for a TN as I thought (I'm Canadian). I'm left with the thought that it's likely I'll have to move home after my OPT (not eligible for STEM).

It sucks because I'll be leaving a company I love and essentially restarting my career over again. Even finding a job back home won't be easy since my network is down here now. I guess I'm just venting my frustrations with the system and looking for emotional support and maybe some positive advice, although I'm quite familiar with all the processes and have run through every scenario in my head. Let me know if you've ever experienced something similar.

Besides this, I have an American girlfriend who I'm quite serious about although she's a bit younger and is not ready for marriage yet. So I especially don't like the idea of leaving the US because I'll be leaving her. Anyway, please nothing negative, this has already been difficult enough.

Thanks Guys!

NVC Case FE Review note

Hi everyone, my family and I are under the F3 category and we just received a notice from NVC that our documents have been approved and that we are Documentarily Qualified. My only concern is this message that we received today in addition to the acceptance: " [Name of petitioner] does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview. For more information, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p . To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 for a joint sponsor may be submitted." We already have a petitioner and a household sponsor (the household sponsor's income is above the required level), but still unsure why we received this. Has anyone else received this message? All of our documents say "Approved" on NVC. Does this mean we have to find another sponsor? Can we show the consular officer our ...
