Passport renewal while H1 is under processing

I'm an Indian Citizen currently on F1 Day 1 CPT Status in USA and my H1B is under processing. It has been selected in the lottery this year and we have sent all the documents but the approval is still pending. My Questions is: Can I renew my passport while the H1 petition is under processing or do I need to wait until the H1 is approved. P.S: My passport number will change if I renew my passport and want to make sure it will not cause any issues for H1 approval and processing
