Hi all,
I hope this is the right place to post this - but my bf is wanting to travel to the US with me in December. He is an EU citizen, and therefore qualifies for ESTA, except that he has a work visa rejection from the US from 2019.
He was told that his visa refusal won’t block him from entering the USA after 1 year, but he just received a refusal for the ESTA. Now we are wondering, will he always have to apply for a visa just to visit the US? It feels like a forever penalty just for being rejected from a work visa.
I tried calling both the embassy and the ESTA people and they keep sending me to each other -___- curious if anyone else has been in this situation. Thanks!
