If I work in the US on an H1B Visa (am physically present daily) but live in Canada, can I still apply for a US green card?
I have a bit of a complicated situation. My wife and I live in Canada and live 30 minutes to the US border - St Catharines Ontario to Buffalo New York. I am a permanent resident of Canada and am applying for dentistry jobs in the USA. I can only practice in the USA. I will do the drive commute everyday because for our family it’s best we stay in Canada. Of course, I will require my employer to provide an H1B visa for my employment. I’d like to also apply for a green card for the US. If I work in the US, but don’t live there does it impact my green card application? Can I still apply? Anything else I should consider?
