Hi all, Looking for advice on behalf of my brother-in-law who desperately wants to see his mother as her cancer has returned. He is an Australian citizen and is unable to get an ESTA from AUS to the US but is authorized for travel to CAN. His emergent visa interview request was also denied (perhaps related to previous visa application denial 4 years ago related to strong family ties in the US?). My inquiry is upon reading CBP info it states, a citizen of a VWP country visiting the US through CAN/MEX does not need ESTA authorization. Am I missing anything regarding this and Would this be his next best option? Appreciate your responses and insight with our predicament.
